While it's a nice tuner, here is some faults that nobody seemed to notice:
1) all analog audio will be in mono - not stereo!
2) if you use ATSC, you better extend that antenae as far as possible - not to be used in an apartment building unless you are on the top floor.

What really pissed me off is that almost no where on the Hauppauge site mentioned that the device is only in mono for analog connections (i.e. cable). Not in the brochures or the product pages. You had to do a nice search and find it in the FAQ.

They warn that you shouldn't use USB 1.1 but not warning about non-stereo audio? Please. They purposely hid it.

[...] First and foremost (at least for those of us in the United States), Hauppauge announced the HVR-1600 at CES. The HVR-1600 is Hauppauge’s second recent TV tuner card to support over-the-air HDTV. Their first TV tuner card with over-the-air HDTV support was the HVR-950 that they announced in October of 2006 was the HVR-950 (which we wrote about here on the SnapStream blog). [...]

[...] After reading about this tuner in the Snapstream forums and blog I caved, and picked one up at my local Circuit City. You can never have enough HD tuners! [...]
